Worship God Through Prayer
Week 3 – Day 7
Story
Caleb realized that most of his praying revolved around problems. When things were urgent, he prayed more; when life felt smooth, he prayed less. One Sunday, a worship song about God’s holiness moved him deeply, and he thought, What if I prayed like this, just to adore Him, not to get something? The next morning, instead of starting with requests, he opened to Psalms of praise and prayed them back to God, lingering over His holiness, justice, mercy, and steadfast love. He didn’t mention his needs until the very end and found he had a fuller heart and a clearer sense of God’s bigness. His problems were still real, but God was present.
Scripture
“Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.” (1 Chronicles 29:11)
Application
Prayer reaches its highest purpose when it becomes worship. Today, set aside time to focus solely on who God is, His character and glory, without asking for anything. This doesn’t mean denying your needs, but looking at them within the reality of a God who is worthy of praise apart from any gift. As you adore Him, your heart is re-centered, and every future decision is made in the light of His greatness.
Daily Challenge
Action: Spend your time in prayer simply adoring God, His holiness, love, power, and mercy, without asking for anything.
Prayer: Father, You are worthy of my praise apart from any gift. Draw my heart into deeper worship. Amen.
