Study Joseph’s Strategic Wisdom
Week 5 – Day 4
Story
When Marcus read Genesis 41, he was struck by how Joseph handled the revelation of seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Joseph didn’t just receive information; he planned accordingly, storing grain with others’ well-being in mind. His foresight saved nations. Marcus began to see his own decisions differently, not only as personal choices, but as seeds that could either bless or harm others in the future. Financial habits, relational patterns, ministry commitments, each was a kind of “storing” or “squandering.” Joseph’s story became a mirror, asking, “Am I preparing today in a way that will serve others when the lean years come?”
Scripture
“Let Pharaoh… appoint overseers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt’s produce in the seven plenteous years.” (Genesis 41:34)
Application
Joseph models Spirit-led, practical foresight aimed at serving others, not just securing himself. Today, consider his story and meditate on principles of godly planning: listening to God, acting early, thinking of others, and staying faithful over time. These principles help you see your own “plenty” and “famine” seasons with new eyes.
Daily Challenge
Action: Read Genesis 41. Note how Joseph receives revelation, plans, and acts with others in mind. Write down at least three principles of godly foresight you can apply.
Prayer: God, give me Joseph’s kind of wisdom, Spirit-led, practical, and aimed at serving others. Amen.
