Practice Radical Honesty
Week 6 – Day 5
Story
During a performance review, Nina was tempted to subtly shift blame for a failed project onto a colleague who wasn’t in the room. She knew no one would likely fact-check the details. As she opened her mouth, she sensed a sharp inner conviction: Speak truth, even if it reflects poorly on you. Taking a deep breath, she owned her part without excuses. The conversation was uncomfortable, but her manager later said, “I trust you more because you didn’t dodge responsibility.” That moment of radical honesty cost her pride, but it strengthened her witness and opened doors for deeper respect.
Scripture
“Put away falsehood, and speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.” (Ephesians 4:25)
Application
Integrity refuses even “small” lies or half-truths. Today, commit to complete truthfulness in significant interactions, even where shading the story would be easier. This practice trains your heart to care more about God’s opinion than about image management and builds trust with those around you.
Daily Challenge
Action: Be completely truthful in all significant interactions today, even where a half-truth would be easier.
Prayer: Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight. Amen.
