Study a Biblical Decision-Maker

Week 2 – Day 3

Study a Biblical Decision-Maker

Story

When Leah felt stuck in a difficult conflict at work, every option seemed to have some risk attached. Upsetting her boss, alienating co-workers, or even job loss was a possibility. She knew she should pray, but she also wanted a good example to follow, and so she turned to Scripture, asking, “Who faced something like this?” She read about Daniel in Babylon, how he requested a different diet, but without rebellion, and learned how he remained respectful yet firm when pressured to compromise. She noticed that Daniel combined being faithful to God with wisdom and courage. As Leah studied his story, she began to see her own situation in a different light. Instead of either lashing out or going silent, she sensed God leading her to a humble, respectful conversation with her supervisor, based in truth but free of hurt and anger. Daniel’s story didn’t give her a script, but it did give her an example to follow.

Scripture

“As for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” (Daniel 1:17)

Application

The Bible is full of real people making difficult choices and turning to God. Today, let one of those stories speak to you. By studying how they listened, trusted, and acted, you can gain more than inspiration, you can see actual principles you can follow. You are not the first to face pressure, uncertainty, or risk, and God has left you examples to learn from.

Daily Challenge

Action: Read about a biblical figure facing a hard decision, note the truths about God and the principles they relied on, and consider how you might imitate their approach.

Prayer: Father, teach me to seek You in my decisions the way they did. Amen.
