Connect Scripture to Current Decisions
Week 2 – Day 2
Story
Tasha had three big decisions to make at a very stressful time. She had just graduated and now had to consider a job change, a move, and whether to start graduate school. She prayed, stressed, and made endless pros-and-cons lists, but everything felt tangled. One evening, while reading the Bible as she often did, she realized she had never stopped and asked, “What does the Bible say about decisions like these?” Then she sat down with a notebook and listed her decisions to be made. She searched for passages on God’s guidance, stewardship, calling, and fear. Verses from Proverbs, James, and the Gospels began to present themes: seek God’s kingdom first, walk in integrity, care about people more than prestige. Her circumstances didn’t magically resolve, but her questions changed from “What do I want?” to “What honors God?” Scripture came alive in her muddle.
Scripture
“Your word is a lamp to my feet,
and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Application
Scripture is not meant to be a separate category from your real-life decisions. Today, think about a current decision you have to make and consider it in the light of the Bible, expecting God to speak through His Word about the things that are weighing on you. This is where consulting Scripture moves from theory to practice, letting specific passages guide how you think, feel, and act in particular situations.
Daily Challenge
Action: List a decision you are currently facing and search the Bible for at least one related principle or passage. Write down the references and one application, and pray for guidance.
Prayer: Lord, show me Your perspective on each of these choices. Amen.
