Define Your Eternal Vision
Week 5 – Day 1
Story
When Isaac thought about the future, his mind usually went to retirement numbers, career goals, and travel dreams. None of those were wrong, but one day during a sermon on eternity he realized he had never actually asked, “Lord, what do You want my life to be for?” That evening he sat with an open journal, asking God to show him a 10-year vision shaped not by comfort but by the kingdom. As he prayed, themes emerged: discipling younger believers, practicing financial generosity, being present with his family, and serving his church. The vision wasn’t a detailed blueprint, but it reoriented his ambitions. Decisions about job offers, schedules, and spending started to look different when held up against that eternal horizon.
Scripture
“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
Application
Wise long-term thinking begins with asking what matters forever. Today, invite God to shape a 10-year vision that reflects His priorities rather than just your preferences. This isn’t about predicting the future; it’s about aligning your desires with His purposes so that everyday decisions move in a direction that honors Him.
Daily Challenge
Action: In prayer, ask God to show you a 10-year vision of how He might want to use your life for His kingdom, spiritually, relationally, and vocationally. Write what comes to mind and hold it loosely before Him.
Prayer: Lord, my future belongs to You. Shape my vision to match Your heart. Amen.
