Seek Counsel on a Current Decision

Week 4 – Day 2

Seek Counsel on a Current Decision

Story

When Victor faced a major decision about relocating his family, he prayed and searched Scripture, but he still felt torn. In the past, he would have chosen the path that seemed most comfortable and asked God to bless it later. This time, he decided to honor the pillar of community. He met with an older couple from his church who had walked with God through many transitions. Victor shared his situation, the Scriptures he had been meditating on, and his fears. They didn’t tell him what to do, but they asked wise questions, shared relevant passages, and helped him see motives he had missed. By the end of the conversation, the path ahead was not easier, but it was clearer, and he no longer carried the weight alone.

Scripture

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22)

Application

Counsel becomes transformative when it’s connected to real decisions. Today, think about one choice you have to make, not a vague “life issue,” and bring it to a trusted believer. Share how you have already prayed and what Scripture you’ve considered, then ask them to help you discern what honors God. This isn’t about offloading responsibility; it’s humbly welcoming God’s wisdom through His people.

Daily Challenge

Action: Bring one decision to a trusted, mature believer. Share the Scriptures you have considered and how you have prayed. Ask for their perspective.

Prayer: Father, help me receive what You want to say through this person, even if it challenges my plans. Amen.
