Seek God’s Guidance Through Prayer
Week 7 – Day 3
Story
Marco had done the work, humility, Scripture, counsel, long-term thinking, and still felt torn between two good options. He realized that what he wanted most was not just information, but communion. Taking an evening walk, he poured out his heart and confusion to God and then repeatedly prayed, “Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours, be done.” As he walked, his focus gradually went from Which path is safer? to How can I know You more closely, whichever path You choose? The clarity came later, but the change of heart came that night: he understood that the goal of this decision was not a risk-free future, but a deeper relationship with his Father.
Scripture
“Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42)
Application
At the heart of trust is surrendered prayer. Today, spend extra time talking with God about a decision, asking not only for direction but for a heart that truly wants His will above your own. Including silence in that prayer gives space for His peace and prompts to surface.
Daily Challenge
Action: Deepen your prayer life beyond requests. Spend extended time talking with God about your decisions, explicitly praying, “Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42). For every significant decision today, stop first to pray and include quiet listening.
Prayer: Father, I entrust this choice to You. Shape my desires until I want what You want. Amen.
